Colorado Trout Unlimited Executive Director David Nickum said he heard minimal negative feedback about the proposed fee increase. Most Colorado anglers realize the increased cost is a bargain compared to other hobbies.

"You're probably going to spend more money on the gas to get to wherever you're going to fish," he said, adding, "We've always invested back in the fish and wildlife, because that's what supports hunting and fishing at the end of the day."
