Project Description: This is the last Greenback stocking effort for 2018. Join fellow TU members, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service in an effort to stock sections of Herman and Dry Gulch this Fall. The project will entail hiking 20-40 pounds worth of fish and gear up steep switchbacks to access the river. Once volunteers arrive at specific release locations, they will be able to release native Greenbacks into this important recovery area! This project is rated as Strenuous!
Date/Time: Volunteers will meet at the Herman Gulch Trailhead at 10:00am on September 26, 2018. (NOTE: time may change slightly due to CPW logistics. Volunteers will receive confirmation ahead of project day).
Location: Herman Gulch Trailhead, close to Loveland Pass exit. Volunteers will be split into two groups - 20 people will stay at Herman Gulch and 20 will caravan with the fish over to Dry Gulch. Note: Everyone will meet at the Herman Gulch Trailhead first!
What to Bring: hiking backpack (65 liters minimum), water, sunscreen, lunch, snacks, sturdy hiking boots, hat/sunglasses, rain jacket, layers. Note: waders are not needed.
