As part of the Greenback Cutthroat Recovery Project, volunteers will work alongside Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) biologists to help sample cutthroats in Herman Gulch.
Volunteers will split up into 4 electrofishing groups to cover every linear foot of Herman Gulch to evaluate the stocking success of Age 0 greenbacks last year.
The plan would be to meet at the Herman Gulch trailhead at 8:30 a.m. make group assignments, and then hit the trail. Volunteers will be asked to hike anywhere between 1 to 3.5 miles and then wade approximately 0.75 miles while assisting with electrofishing in the stream. Volunteers will also need to bring their own water, water, lunch, waders, and other hiking equipment.
