2018 TU Western Regional Rendezvous Scholarship Information

Join fellow anglers and TU volunteer leaders from across the West on April 27-28, 2018 in Keystone, Colorado for enlightening presentations, inspiring dialogue and engaging camaraderie with those who share your dedication to TU and our mission. TU regional rendezvous are occasions to be inspired – by the work of TU staff, lessons from volunteer leaders, and conversations with newfound friends. They are also an excellent opportunity to discuss the unique issues facing the region as well as a chance to network and build relationships with fellow TU volunteer leaders.

Colorado TU Scholarships Available!

A limited number of scholarships are available for TU members in Colorado. The goal of these spots are to help new and emerging TU leaders to attend the rendezvous and support their development as the next generation of conservationists in Colorado.  The Western Regional Rendezvous will offer great opportunities to learn about the TU organization, fundraising, communications, programming, and more!  It is also a great chance to learn from fellow leaders in the state.  Information on how to apply for these limited scholarships is below:

Who Can Apply?

These scholarships are intended to support first-time attendees and leaders who may not be able to afford the cost of attendance.  We encourage interested parties to first approach their local chapter for sponsorship in order to ensure that we can spread the love.  If your chapter is unable to sponsor you, than this scholarship can help!

How To Apply?

To apply, please send an email to Dan Omasta (domasta@tu.org) and briefly describe your chapter, leadership position (if applicable), and what you want to take away from the rendezvous this year.  Please contact us soon, as scholarships are limited!

What is Involved in a Scholarship?

Scholarships will cover the cost of the conference registration fee (which includes all meals and sessions for the three days 4/27-4/29).  Recipients will be required to provide at least three (3) hours of work to help support the conference.  Duties can include: helping at the registration table on Friday and Saturday, arranging name tags, room set-up, nighttime event support, and more.  Since we want you to learn as much as possible and have a fun, meaningful experience, the work-trade times will be flexible.

There will also be a community lodging opportunity for interested parties to stay for free or at discounted rates.  More information will be available soon, but please let us know if you would be interested in staying at the group VRBO.

Chapter Scholarships

The TU Rendezvous provides great information on programs and skills that will help our chapters be successful in their local watersheds.  As such, we encourage our chapters to sponsor members as a way of investing in the future of your organization.  Roughly half of CTU chapters help attendees cover the cost of their participation.  For more information, please contact your local chapter to see if these opportunities exist in your area.

Scholarship Sponsors

The following companies and TU partners have graciously donated money to help TU members attend the event.  We thank them for investing in the future of TU and our local watersheds!

If you are interested in reaching out to local businesses in your community, please contact Dan Omasta (domasta@tu.org) for sponsorship materials that you can use.
